Jim and Marsha met in Atlanta, GA, where Jim was a teacher and Marsha a student at a local college.  They married in 1971, and less than a year later they moved to southeast Texas, where their marriage began to deteriorate.  "Jim's career was his mistress, says Marsha.  "No," says Jim.  "It was worse than that...my career was my god."

What followed was fifteen years of miserable marriage.  Then, following a dramatic reconciliation in 1987, they began putting their marriage back together.  Though they were reconciled, there was a lot of work to be done on the road from reconciliation to restoration.

Their story about how God worked in their lives to bring reconciliation and restoration is God's Blueprint for Marriage.  God's Blueprint details how God brought the two of them into a deeper relationship with God and with each other.

"We firmly believe that God has given us His blueprint for marriage," they say.  "By taking these principles and sharing them with others, we can help them avoid the problems we had.  Or, if they have problems, we can help them overcome them.  If it worked for us, it will work for anybody."

Jim and Marsha use God's Blueprint for Marriage as the foundation for premarital counseling to help newlyweds establish a strong relationship with each other, by applying the principles, which include making Jesus Christ the Lord of their marriage.  They also use God's Blueprint as the foundation for pastoral counseling with couples having marriage problems.  They have presented God's Blueprint for Marriage in seminar format in the United States and South America.  And they are turning God's Blueprint into a book to be published soon.

Before entering fulltime ministry in 1992, Jim had successful careers in radio broadcasting and in direct sales.  Also in 1992 Marsha returned to her career as a pediatric nurse, a career she stepped away from when their children were born.  In 1997 they moved to northwest Arkansas, where Jim accepted the position of Sr. Pastor of Abundant Grace Church.  At the end of 2006 Jim and Marsha turned leadership of the church over to their son, Michael, and his wife, Rhonda.  They, along with their other son, Jeffrey, and his wife, Vanessa, are the pastoral team of the church, which became Destiny Church.  Then, in 2010, Destiny Church merged with Word of Life Fellowship in Bentonville, where Jim and Marsha serve on the pastoral staff.

The transition has enabled Jim and Marsha to devote time their marriage ministry, and their missions work in Peru, where they have a very strong ministry presence.

Jim and Marsha's goal is to share God's Blueprint for Marriage through seminars and workshops, as well as in pastoral counseling.
